YouTube’s Best Male Singers
For the past six years, JRA Aquino has been doing the rounds, uploading cover videos, and building a solid fan base on YouTube. In February, he started a Kickstarter campaign to fund his debut studio album, and subsequently raised $16,000, exceeding his initial target of $15,000. His album entitled ‘This Time Around’ is now available on iTunes, proving just how effective Youtube is for aspiring musicians. I’ve been following his YouTube channel for a while now, and regard him as one of the founding members of the original Youtube-to-mainstream artists
You may remember Andrew Garcia from his brief stint on American Idol, but make no mistake of it, before appearing on the talent show, he was already a household name on YouTube. Like most singers on the video-sharing site, Andrew Garcia is of Filipino descent (JRA Aquino too). His husky vocals paired with his magic guitar skills make him one of a kind.
Unlike the aforementioned singers, Jed Roberts is perhaps a lesser known YouTube star, but still packs quite a punch. His acoustic version of “Hallelujah” is my favourite cover of the song, and is enough to include him in the list.
More than just a YouTube cover artist, Ebrahim or more affectionately known as EebsoFresh, is a singer-songwriter-producer all wrapped into one. His videos are not just copycat covers of well-known songs; he creates new versions according to his own musical interpretation. Whether that maybe beat boxing to a Britney Spears song or looping beats, his channel is a fresh take on what a YouTube artist should be like.
Whose is your favourite Youtube singer?
